Mindful Eating Tip of the Day
“Put your phone down at meal time”
Does anyone hate when they are trying to have a conversation with their kids who claim they can multitask by talking to you and snap chat at the same time? Think back to yesterday's mindful tip, “respect your meal.” Don’t disrespect your meal by paying more attention to the cell phone then what’s on your plate. This is especially important for those who find themselves emotionally eating. Emotional eaters tend to start bingeing, and when that’s not enough to drown out unwanted emotions, they start scrolling through social media to distract themselves even further. Slow down when you’re eating and allow yourself to work through your emotions without the distraction of a cell phone. Eventually you’ll learn to honor your emotions without food, but one step at a time!
